India’s First Metro Village - The Indian-e-Village
The general concept of a metropolitan Village is that of a core area containing a large population nucleus, together with adjacent communities that have a high degree of economic and social integration with that core.
Smart habitation is an integrated area of villages and a city working in harmony and where the rural and urban divide has reduced to a thin line. – APJ Abdul Kalam
The e- Village is a flexible, country-specific, ecosystem whose design and development must be guided by the principles of feasibility, inclusiveness, and sustainability. It has technology connectivity and internet access, Low-cost access to technology tools, solutions, and means of delivery.
The Indian-e-Village
The Indian E-Village has been working tirelessly since 27th July 2012 to reinforce India’s roots in villages and villagers. This little organization that has now grown to have bigger dreams was initially a part of the Help India Help Foundation but is now being controlled by the visionary Peeyush Pandit and Swarna Bharat Parivaar. The Peeyush Group under the chairmanship of Peeyush Pandit has also been working for over two and a half decades to establish its excellence in all ventures. The Swarna Bharat Parivaar too establishes its guidance for users in the market. They together constitute the base for the Indian-e-village.
The organization strives hard to ensure data and network connectivity across the village giving the inhabitants access to a world of information. It is a project that is dynamic, marked by consistent change, progress, and new ideas. Innovation is a technique that we use in our ideas to upgrade the standard of living. The digital village can bring about tremendous change in governance, agriculture, and education. How wonderful would it be for the hard-working farmers of our villages to get updates on the weather, agricultural inputs, and new harvesting methods? Giving the villages access to information is our key idea.
The E-Village aims to create a close-knitted family but more than that, it was created to make technology accessible for all members of the village. The organization was initially a part of the Help India Help Foundation but is now a part of Peeyush Group and Swarna Bharat Parivaar. These two form the base for the E-Village.

The main purpose of this program is to raise the level of life and economic development of the rural areas through the rapid development of information and communication technology to minimize the growth of the digital divide between city and rural areas. Due to the lack of availability of information technology infrastructure and skilled manpower, providing services to remote and rural areas of the country deprived of basic and essential services will be extremely accessible and effective. Giving the villages access to information is our key idea.
The Indian E-Village has explored bridging the digital gap between Urban and Rural India under
The project of the E-Village is dynamic, marked by consistent change, and open to progressive ideas. The organization strives hard to ensure data and network connectivity across the village thereby giving the inhabitants access to a world of information. The innovators at this digital village believe that by following the direction of the rest of the world and enabling easy access to technology, it is possible to bring about tremendous change in governance, agriculture, and education. When you think about farmers being able to get updates on the weather, agricultural products, and new harvesting methods, you will better understand the impact that the E-Village aims to create.
Right now, it is achieving that and the digital villagers have access to information in real-time without having to think about it.
Now, isn’t that innovative? This innovation is what drives the E-Village and all the other projects under the passionate leadership of Peeyush Pandit. He is constantly working to use innovation to bring about groundbreaking changes that are driven by the United Nations SDGs.
